Joe Pera
Don’t let his unassuming persona fool you — the soft spoken, folksy stand-up is one of the funniest people alive, and once again he’s providing Asheville with two opportunities to catch him. —Jonny Leather

This is one of those rare chances you get to catch a promising young band in a small club before they blow up. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. —JL

Former Ought members Tim Darcy (vocals/guitar) and Ben Stidworthy (bass) — along with U.S. Girls drummer Evan Cartwright — introduced their new project in 2022 with the release of Deep In View. Picking up where they left off, the Canadian post-punk trio’s new LP, The Gloss, delivers all of the lyrical wit and minimal-but-energetic arrangements fans could hope for. They’ll be joined by Majical Cloudz’ former frontman, whose latest album, Come With Me If You Want To Live, could be described as melancholy synth pop for the end times. —JL
