Of Montreal
Nothing may be certain except death and taxes, but it’s all but guaranteed that the longtime psych-pop project of singer-songwriter Kevin Barnes will put on a wildly entertaining show when they return to The Grey Eagle on Tuesday. Pedro The Lion
When David Bazan was last in town with his Seattle-based indie rock trio, he was on guitar and performing a pair of classic albums from over 20 years ago. This time around, he’ll be stationed behind the drum kit, as they showcase tunes from the post-reunion autobiographical album triptych Phoenix, Havasu, and Santa Cruz. An opening set by the excellent synthpop sideproject of Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner makes this a perfect double bill. —JL
