This Week in Asheville: June 24-30
Asheville’s wealth of live music offerings can leave concertgoers feeling overwhelmed when it comes to picking which shows to attend. But have no fear! The Asheville Stages staff is here to help with insights on the week’s most appealing options.
Donnie Doolittle
For those who bask in gloom, Charlotte-based Donnie Doolittle delivers a haunted Americana sound that draws from the likes of Nick Cave and Timber Timbre. Filling out the triple bill are a pair of Asheville’s best goth bands. —Jonny Leather

Blue Cactus
In 2013, Triangle-based singer/songwriter Steph Stewart was the first artist I interviewed during my freelance days for the Asheville Citizen-Times. She’s no longer with her band The Boyfriends and our daily paper slashed its arts coverage seven years ago, but we’ve both gone on to bigger and better things — particularly Stewart who, along with former Boyfriends bandmate Mario Arnez, has found her voice through fresh, creative twists on country music. —Edwin Arnaudin

Adam Holzman
Regarded as one of the most innovative keyboardists alive, Holzman has collaborated with an extensive list of performers that includes Miles Davis and Steven Wilson. Don’t miss this opportunity to witness a master at close proximity. —JL
