This Week in Asheville: April 20-26

Asheville’s wealth of live music, theater, and comedy offerings can leave concertgoers feeling overwhelmed when it comes to picking which shows to attend. But have no fear! The Asheville Stages staff is here to help with insights on the week’s most appealing options.

Holy Fuck

Two decades in, the Toronto group continues to make electronic music entirely on its own terms. New album, Event Beat, is proof that the instinct hasn't dulled. —Jonny Leather

How you plan your 4/20 matters. Sure, you can wake and bake — get as high as the sun before it's even fully risen — but pace yourself. You'll want to endure long enough to make it to The Orange Peel, where one of hip-hop's most singular voices will be dropping some of the most gloriously unhinged verses ever put to a beat. —Jonny Leather

Over the past decade, Lindsey Jordan has steadily climbed the ranks of indie rock royalty with albums that win over critics and fans alike. Released in late March, her latest LP, Ricochet, builds on that standing and new tracks such as “Dead End” should be a treat to witness live.  —Edwin Arnaudin

Ghostface Killah

The second Wu-Tang Clan rapper to visit the South Slope venue in less than a year, the legendary lyricist is sure to pack out the fairly intimate space just like GZA did back in November, spitting legendary verses from across the group’s career and his own illustrious catalog. —EA

Armand Hammer

Back at Asheville’s new hip-hop mecca less than a year after his headlining performance, Billy Woods returns alongside fellow NYC fire-spitter Elucid in what might be the genre’s best active duo. Fortified by beats from The Alchemist on its two most recent albums, Haram (2021) and Mercy (2025), the prolific group also has over a decade of joint material from which to pull for this can’t-miss set. —EA
