Nick Shoulders & The Okay Crawdad

A throwback to old time greats such as Roy Rogers and Gene Autry, this country singer from Fayetteville, Ark., can yodel with the best of them. And he also writes some damn fine tunes, making him one of the most refreshing artists to emerge from the dusty genre in recent memory.  —Jonny Leather

This Will Destroy You

The long-running post-rock trio from Texas was originally scheduled to open the Heavy Mountain Festival pre-party with Pelican, but the festival has been rescheduled to early next year due to damage from Hurricane Helene. Fortunately, This Will Destroy You will still be performing at Eulogy on Friday. The show will be “pay what you can” with profits going towards hurricane relief. —JL

Chris Knight

“If I can’t believe myself, I won’t sing the song” is the motto to which this Kentucky native ascribes, and it’s served him well for nearly three decades as a recording artist. Such blatant honesty will be especially welcome on the Grey Eagle stage as the Asheville community continues to recover from natural disaster devastation. —Edwin Arnaudin

A Place To Bury Strangers

The Grey Eagle survived Helene intact, but can it withstand the impact of an A Place To Bury Strangers performance? When the NYC-based trio led by pedal-building mad scientist Oliver Ackermann plays, it’s like being present for an atomic blast. Wear earplugs, or regret it later. —JL
