Frankie Rose
As an original member of Vivian Girls and Crystal Stilts, Rose was a vital member of an exciting Brooklyn scene during the aughts, but it wasn’t until she started fronting her own groups that we got to see what she was capable of. Last year’s Love As Projection is a luscious collection of dream pop that should sound amazing in the intimate Static Age space. —JL

Field Trip: Local Natives
Along with Fleet Foxes, this California-based quintet leads the indie rock league in lush vocal harmonies, catchy melodies, and thoughtful orchestration. Staying hot since its breakthrough 2009 debut, Gorilla Manor, the band has yet to release a dud and recent complementary albums, Time Will Wait for No One (2023) and But I’ll Wait For You (2024), rank up with their best works. —Edwin Arnaudin
