Jun 1 Interview: Warren Haynes + Kyle Travers

The prospect of interviewing Asheville native Warren Haynes is appealing on its own, but when local rockers Travers Brothership were added as the opening act for Gov’t Mule’s Friday, June 3, show at Salvage Station, the opportunity to sit down with two generations of area guitarists/songwriters became even more tantalizing.

Through the power of Zoom, Haynes and Kyle Travers met for the first time a week before their shared gig. Asheville Stages was privileged to be a fly on the wall as the musicians discussed their shared craft, love for The Allman Brothers, and standout experiences at Haynes’ Christmas Jam — the return of which also made its way into the conversation.
