Cory Hanson

Perhaps best known as the frontman of the grossly underrated Los Angeles-based psych rock band Wand, as well as for his collaborations with Ty Segall and Mikal Cronin, the singer/songwriter has also proven himself as a solo artist in recent years with four excellent albums that have found him further showcasing his range as a lyricist. —Jonny Leather

Nation of Language

A lot of bands have mined the sounds of ’80s synth pop only to sound like cheap retro imitators, missing the heart of which made groups like OMD, Depeche Mode, and The Human League special. This Brooklyn trio is the rare exception that gets it right. —JL

Tanner York + Seven and a Half Giraffe + Walkhome + Colin Miller

Ever since putting out a killer lo-fi power pop album in 2025, Tanner York has been an artist on the rise. He's played some dates with local heroes Wednesday and recently spent time on the road for his first ever tour. His return home finds him at Lexington Avenue’s intimate spot with a loaded bill of local acts deserving of attention, including the brilliant Colin Miller. —JL

Jesse Welles

Protest songs are back with a vengeance and this Arkansas native is a big reason why. (Well, aside from the whole Stephen Miller thing.) More than simply the writer of “Join ICE,” the singer/songwriter and his band absolutely shredded at this year’s High Water Fest and it’ll be exciting to see what they do with a headlining show at downtown’s biggest outdoor venue. —Edwin Arnaudin

With a backing band that features former Wilco multi-instrumentalist LeRoy Bach and in-demand jazz drummer Quin Kirchner, the singer/songwriter from Chicago may not be the most attention-grabbing name in her own band yet, but her hazy folk songs should have the appeal to earn her plenty of name recognition. —JL
